About

Since 2018, Eyes of a Child has been dedicated to supporting families across the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles County. Through our local programs, we’ve distributed fresh produce, school supplies, and essential resources to help children and families thrive.

How we help

Our impact is made possible through generous donations and partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, and fellow nonprofits. Together, we sustain programs that bring relief, education, and hope throughout the year.

Why it matters

Even in California, the world’s fifth-largest economy, many families in the San Fernando Valley face daily challenges. Within our vibrant Latino communities, access to consistent food, school resources, and housing stability remains a struggle. That’s why our work continues, because every child deserves a chance to grow with dignity and opportunity.

Our Mission in Action

Our programs provide children with food, education, clothing, and safe homes, ensuring they have the essentials to grow, learn, and thrive with hope

Covid-19 Responses

United States 🇺🇸 – In April 2020, Eyes of a Child provided $500–$1,000 in financial relief to families of board members and volunteers affected by job losses in Los Angeles County and the San Fernando Valley. By August 2020, over 250 food boxes were distributed across Santa Clarita, North Hollywood, Van Nuys, and nearby communities.

Peru 🇵🇪 – In September 2020, EOAC supported the Castro Family, a Venezuelan family in Peru, with a $500 donation to help with essential needs and medical care for their children and elderly mother.

Mexico 🇲🇽 – From April to October 2020, EOAC’s Rosarito Project assisted over 100 children and families by providing food, clothing, and toys. Monthly distributions included 30 food bags in April, a community event with clothes and food in July, and 30 food baskets in August and October.

Homeless Lives Matter

During the COVID-19 pandemic, EOAC launched the “Homeless Lives Matter Too” initiative in Los Angeles and Seattle, partnering with Microsoft employees and volunteers from the First Brazilian Baptist Church of Los Angeles. Together, they raised funds and distributed over 150 Care Bags with food, hygiene items, and reusable masks, showing that compassion truly knows no boundaries.

Fresh Produce Distribution

Throughout 2020, we worked tirelessly to support local families affected by the pandemic through the distribution of fresh fruit and vegetable boxes across Los Angeles County donated by Sun Terra Farmers to Families.

  • July 24, 2020: With the help of volunteers, 104 families in San Fernando Valley, North Hollywood, Van Nuys, and surrounding Los Angeles areas received boxes of fresh produce.

  • September 11, 2020: The team distributed 250 boxes of fruits and vegetables to families in Los Angeles, North Hollywood, Newhall, and the San Fernando Valley.

Toy Distribution

From Sylmar to Downtown Los Angeles and Northridge, Eyes of a Child hosted multiple toy distribution events made possible by NBC Universal Studios and our amazing volunteers. Between 2023 and 2024, hundreds of toys were shared across four locations, including La Sabrosa Restaurant, Child and Family Guidance Center, and PIBBLA Church, bringing joy and smiles to countless children and families. 💙
